Red Bull Supernatural

Don’t forget to check out all the action featured on NBC as part of the Red Bull Signature Series, Saturday March 31st at 10am PST.

Under bright, bluebird skies, 18 of the world’s most notable up-and-comers alongside the icons of snowboarding progressed the sport to a new level, as Red Bull Supernatural ran at Baldface Lodge outside of Nelson, B.C., Canada. From the first rider to drop, Scotty Lago, through Travis Rice’s final run, the never before ridden Red Bull Supernatural course challenged every aspect of the competitors’ talents, bringing the most progressive riding of our time together in a single run.

Mission to the edge of Space – 2012

The mission, Red Bull Stratos, will take renowned athlete Felix Baumgartner to at least 120,000 feet above the earth, to the very edge of Space.

From there, he will attempt a stratospheric free fall jump – the longest in the history of man – and hopefully will become the first human to break the speed of sound with his own body.

This is a mission to overcome limits which have existed for almost fifty years, ever since the heroic achievement of the young US Air Force test pilot, Joe Kittinger, with his 1960 Excelsior mission.

Red Bull Stratos will attempt to make history and deliver valuable learnings for medical and scientific advancement that will aid the exploration of space in future years.

The North Face®: Tent Bound in Devil’s Bay

The idea started off as a good one: To establish new trad climbs on the amazing 1,200-foot granite big-wall rocketing directly out of the ocean in Devil’s Bay, Newfoundland. But for climbers Hazel Findlay, Alex Honnold, James Pearson and Mark Synnott, the great idea soon became something much different then planned.

Though Newfoundland is relatively close to Mark Synnott’s home in upstate New Hampshire, in reality, it would be easier to reach some Himalayan basecamps than get to Devil’s Bay. Five days of travel by car and boat into this land forgotten by modern time, the team finally arrived only to discover adverse conditions and suffering.

Expeditions are remembered for being either great successes or grand failures. But the reality is that most of the time, they are neither. For the climbers, their experience became as much an inward exploration of their own hopes, anxieties and fears as it was an exploration of the vertical walls. “Tentbound in Devil’s Bay” is a portrait of the darker side of an expedition, a side that you rarely hear about.

The Privateer ft Scott Champion

While many race fans relish over the flashy factory race bikes, teams, and gear, it’s easy to overlook the working class hero, the person who makes up the backbone of Supercross and motocross racing… The privateer. Southern California native, Scott Champion, is just that person. Financially funding his own racing career, if Champion doesn’t do well one weekend, it could potentially mean not enough funds to make it to the following race. We decided to spend a few days with Champion to see what it’s like for a privateer as they prepare for the biggest Supercross race of the season… Anaheim 1.
